Proposition for Rehearsing death

A Score by Lisa E. Harris and Georgia Wall

Proposition for Rehearsing Death is a co-composition by Li(sa) Harris, a sound based composer and Georgia Wall, a movement based composer. Proposition for Rehearsing Death centers a super slow gesture of falling as an embodied investigation of surrender as well as a metaphoric rehearsal for death. The simple choreography offers a meditative and repeatable blueprint for which both individuals and groups of people may engage.

The project asks: What is it that we are mourning? What do we need to let go? And how can we be embodied witnesses to the many people who have already lost their lives as a way of coming to terms with our own mortality? Proposition for Rehearsing Death is an ongoing, malleable work that can exists in multiple forms and has thus far existed as public performances for the camera and a written score for live performance.
